Product Description

Plexus® MA2045 is a two-part methacrylate adhesive designed for structural bonding of composite, thermoplastic, and metal assemblies. It is uniquely formulated to eliminate sag and slide, even when applied to vertical surfaces. MA2045 also prevents boiling in gaps up to 1.5 inches thick, making it suitable for large gap-filling applications.

With a 10:1 mix ratio, MA2045 has a working time of approximately 50 minutes at 75°F (24°C) and achieves 500 psi in approximately 100 minutes and 1000 psi in approximately 130 minutes. Like other Plexus methacrylate systems, MA2045 requires little-to-no surface preparation and provides excellent fatigue endurance, impact resistance, and superior toughness.

MA2045 is off-white when mixed and is supplied in ready-to-use cartridges, pails, or drums. It dispenses as a non-sagging gel.

Key Features

  • No Sag or Slide: Can be applied vertically or overhead without dripping.
  • Large Gap Filling: Works in gaps up to 1.5 inches without boiling.
  • High Strength & Toughness: Provides excellent impact resistance and durability.
  • Minimal Surface Preparation: Bonds many materials without extensive surface prep.
  • Excellent Fatigue Resistance: Maintains strength under cyclic loads.
  • Moderate Work Time: Provides 50 minutes of working life at 75°F (24°C).

Recommended Applications

  • Marine Industry: Bonding composite and metal components in boats and marine vessels.
  • Transportation: Structural bonding of thermoplastic and composite panels in automotive, rail, and aerospace.
  • Industrial Equipment: General manufacturing applications requiring high durability.
