SilFORT™ AS4000 is a premium-performance, thermally cured silicone hard coat designed to provide superior protection against environmental exposure, abrasion, and chemical damage. This clear, non-yellowing coating extends the durability of polycarbonate components, ensuring long-lasting performance in demanding applications.

The AS4000 coating system is designed to be used with a primer such as SHP401 or LHP100PM to enhance adhesion to polycarbonate surfaces. Once applied and cured, the AS4000 hard coat significantly improves the resistance of plastic components to UV radiation, extreme weather conditions, and mechanical wear.

Key Features and Benefits:

✅ Superior UV Resistance – Protects against yellowing, cracking, and degradation from sunlight exposure.
✅ High Abrasion & Scratch Resistance – Resists damage from sand, dirt, and impact.
✅ Thermal Stability – Withstands extreme temperatures without losing clarity or performance.
✅ Chemical Resistance – Provides excellent protection against solvents, fuels, brake fluids, and industrial chemicals.
✅ Non-Yellowing & High Optical Clarity – Ensures transparency and visual integrity over time.
✅ DOT FMVSS#108 & ECE Automotive Compliant – Meets regulatory standards for automotive lighting and safety.
✅ Compatible with SHP401 Primer – Enhances adhesion and durability on polycarbonate surfaces.

Applications:

  • Automotive Lighting: Headlamp lenses, taillights, reflectors.
  • Aerospace & Transportation: Protective coatings for transparent plastic components.
  • Industrial Equipment: Abrasion-resistant coatings for plastic enclosures and optical parts.
  • Consumer Electronics: Protective layers for screens and clear plastic parts.
