Product Description

3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Epoxy Adhesive/Coating 2290 is a light amber, thermosetting adhesive and coating designed for metal-to-metal bonding and coating applications. It provides high shear and peel strength properties, making it ideal for laminated steel core assembly in electrical motor stators and rotors, adhering copper foil to B-staged epoxy in printed circuit manufacturing, and coating and protecting coils and electronic subassemblies. The adhesive dries to a tack-free film, allowing for bonding up to 3 months later.

Key Features

  • High Shear and Peel Strength: Provides exceptional bond performance in demanding applications.
  • One-Part Formula: No premixing required, reducing preparation time.
  • Tack-Free Drying: Bonds can be made up to 3 months after application.
  • Excellent Wetting During Cure: Only one surface needs to be coated for strong adhesion.
  • Minimal Pressure Requirement: Requires only sufficient pressure to maintain dimensional stability during bonding.

Recommended Applications

  • Laminated steel core assembly for electrical motor stators and rotors.
  • Bonding copper foil to B-staged epoxy in printed circuit manufacturing.
  • Coating, protecting, and utilizing coils and electronic subassemblies.
  • General-purpose high-strength metal-to-metal bonding applications.
