Product Description

3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Structural Adhesive EC-3964 is a modified epoxy in solution designed for high-strength bonding applications in aerospace and industrial sectors. It is a solution version of 3M™ Structural Adhesive Film AF 147 and is primarily used for bonding screens in sound suppression panels on aircraft engine nacelles. This adhesive offers high shear and peel strength, excellent performance at temperatures up to 350°F (177°C), and can be sprayed, brushed, or flow applied for various applications​.

Tests were conducted on optimized FPL etched 2024-T3 Alclad aluminum panels with adhesive applied, dried, and cured as per application guidelines. Lap shear specimens were tested at 0.10 in/min and floating roller peel specimens at 12 in/min.
