1. Product Overview

Elan-tron® MC 5506 / W 5506 is a black, filled, fire-retardant, halogen-free, RoHS-compliant epoxy resin system designed for potting and encapsulation. It features low viscosity, low exotherm, and good thermal shock resistance. The system is manually potting-capable and can be processed under vacuum, curing at room temperature with optional post-curing for enhanced properties.

  • MC 5506: Pre-filled epoxy resin with processed fillers, ensuring low shrinkage and improved thermal conductivity.
  • W 5506: Low-viscosity polyamide hardener.

2. Applications

The Elan-tron MC 5506 + W 5506 system is suitable for:

  • Potting of auto electrical components.
  • Encapsulation of electrical & electronic components, particularly those sensitive to thermal and mechanical stress.
  • Thermal Class 130 electrical applications.
