SpeedMask® 758-H Applications

  • Acid stripping – Protection for metal components in aggressive acid environments
  • Plating baths – Ensures selective coverage
  • Aggressive grit blasting – Shields components from abrasive media
  • Turbine engine repair & manufacturing – Used for blades, vanes, and other components

Recommended Surfaces for Adhesion

✔ Titanium Alloys
✔ Nickel Alloys

Curing Guidelines

Cure time depends on lamp intensity, distance from the light source, and coating thickness (0.38 mm tested).

Dymax Curing System (Intensity) Cure Time / Belt Speed
5000-EC (200 mW/cm²) 45 seconds
BlueWave® 200 (10 W/cm²) 4.6 seconds
PortaRay 400 (400 mW/cm²) 18 seconds
UVCS Conveyor with Fusion F300S (2.5 W/cm²) 5.4 m/min (18 ft/min)

✔ Secondary Heat Cure Option: 150°C (300°F) for 30 minutes
(Note: Cure time varies based on material volume, oven efficiency, and part configuration.)

Removal Methods

  • Peelable removal
  • Incineration at 650°C (1200°F) – Leaves minimal ash residue
  • Hand tool (plastic, anti-static, or metal)
  • Ultrasonic bath, dry ice blast, or embrittlement
  • Water jet blast or automated grippers

Processing & Handling Recommendations

✔ Avoid prolonged exposure to ambient/artificial light before curing
✔ Ensure surfaces are clean, grease-free, and dry before application
✔ Use an inert gas like nitrogen to reduce oxygen inhibition during curing
✔ Cooling fans can help dissipate heat generated during curing
