Product Description

3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Structural Plastic Adhesive DP8010 Blue is a two-part, acrylic-based adhesive (10:1 ratio by volume) designed to bond many low surface energy plastics, including various grades of polypropylene, polyethylene, and thermoplastic elastomers (TPOs), without special surface preparation. This adhesive can replace mechanical fasteners such as screws and rivets, as well as plastic welding and two-step processes involving chemical etchants, priming, or surface treatments.

Key Features

  • No Surface Preparation Required: Bonds low surface energy plastics without the need for special treatments.
  • Solvent-Free System: Provides a safer and more environmentally friendly solution.
  • Convenient Application: Available in Duo-Pak cartridges compatible with 3M applicators for precise metering, mixing, and dispensing.
  • Versatile Bonding: Capable of bonding metals, ceramics, wood, and most other plastics.
  • Fast Cure Time: Achieves handling strength in approximately 1 hour and fully cures in 24 hours at 23°C (73°F).

Recommended Applications

  • Appliance Manufacturing and Repair: Joining plastics to metals.
  • Automotive Components: Bonding low surface energy plastics without priming.
  • Sporting Goods Equipment: Impact-resistant composite bonding.
  • General Industrial Use: Replacing mechanical fasteners in various assemblies.
