Product Description

3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Structural Plastic Adhesive DP8005 is a two-part acrylic adhesive designed specifically for bonding low surface energy plastics such as polypropylene, polyethylene, and TPO without the need for surface treatments, primers, or chemical etchants. It offers excellent water and humidity resistance, good chemical resistance, and can replace mechanical fasteners like screws, rivets, and plastic welding in many applications.

Key Features

  • Bonds low surface energy plastics – including polypropylene, polyethylene, and TPO
  • One-step process – no pre-treatment required
  • Strong adhesion to dissimilar materials – bonds plastics to metals and composites
  • Excellent water, humidity, and chemical resistance
  • Room temperature cure – no need for heat acceleration
  • Solvent-free formulation – safer and more environmentally friendly
  • Contains glass beads – ensures 0.008” bond line thickness for optimized strength

Recommended Applications

  • Automotive and transportation – bonding interior and exterior plastic components
  • Aerospace and defense – plastic and composite bonding applications
  • Industrial manufacturing – replacement for screws, rivets, and welding
  • Signage and display – durable and weather-resistant adhesion
  • General assembly – securing lightweight plastic parts without surface treatment
