Product Description

Plexus® MA425 is a two-part methacrylate adhesive designed for structural bonding of thermoplastics, metals, and composite assemblies. It has a 10:1 mix ratio, a working time of 28 to 30 minutes, and reaches approximately 75% of ultimate strength in 80 to 90 minutes at 74°F (23°C).

This adhesive is commonly used in transportation and marine industries due to its minimal surface preparation requirements. It provides excellent fatigue endurance, impact resistance, and superior toughness.

MA425 is blue when mixed and is supplied in ready-to-use cartridges, pails, or drums. It dispenses as a non-sagging gel.

Key Features

  • Medium Cure Speed: Achieves handling strength in approximately 80-90 minutes.
  • High Strength & Toughness: Provides high cohesive strength and durability.
  • Wide Material Compatibility: Bonds aluminum, stainless steel, ABS, acrylic, PVC, fiberglass, and more.
  • Minimal Surface Preparation: Bonds many materials without extensive surface prep.
  • Excellent Impact & Fatigue Resistance: Durable under dynamic loads.

Recommended Applications

  • Transportation: Bonding composite and metal components in automotive, marine, and aerospace.
  • Construction: Structural bonding of composite and thermoplastic panels.
  • Industrial Equipment: Bonding metals and plastics in general manufacturing.
  • Sporting Goods: Used in assembly of lightweight and impact-resistant components.
