Room Temperature Curing Multipurpose One-Component Elastic Adhesive
Super X No.8008
Cemedine Super X No.8008 is an adhesive that offers three key features: adhesive bonding, elastic bonding, and a solvent-free formulation.
Features and Advantages of Super X No.8008
-
Main Component
It is a one-component, room temperature curing adhesive whose main component is a modified silicone polymer. It cures by absorbing moisture from the air, transitioning from a tacky state into a fully bonded state. -
Workability
No special equipment is required during application, and it is easy to handle and store. This contributes to reducing the workload in production environments. -
Wide-Ranging Adhesion
It bonds not only various metals but also plastics, rubber, and more. There is no hassle of having to switch adhesives depending on the material. -
High Durability
With the concept of “from strong adhesion to non-peel adhesion,” once bonded, the adhesive maintains its durability over a wide temperature range (from –40°C to 120°C) and can adapt to the expansion and contraction of dissimilar materials.
What Is Adhesive Bonding?
Super X No.8008 absorbs moisture from the air, triggering its curing reaction. During this process, approximately 3 minutes after application (at 23°C), the adhesive-coated surface begins to change into a tacky state—similar to the adhesive side of tape. If the surfaces are bonded at this stage, immediate adhesion is possible without the need for temporary fixation (it becomes fully fixed in about one day), much like CR contact adhesives.
Application Proposals
-
Bonding Dissimilar Materials:
Ideal for bonding materials with different coefficients of thermal expansion. -
High-Durability Bonding:
Suitable for applications requiring durability under repeated heating and cooling cycles. -
Critical Contact Areas:
Recommended for bonding in areas where contact failure is a concern.
Cemedine Super X No.8008 is a one-component, room temperature curing elastic adhesive designed for high-performance bonding. Its three key features are:
-
Pressure-Sensitive Adhesion:
The adhesive begins to cure by absorbing moisture from the air. Within about 3–10 minutes (depending on conditions), it develops a tacky surface that allows immediate bonding without temporary fixation. -
Elastic Adhesion:
Once cured, the adhesive forms a flexible, rubbery bond. This enables it to accommodate the expansion and contraction of dissimilar materials (e.g., metals, plastics, rubbers, and ceramics) over a wide temperature range (commonly from –60°C to 120°C). -
Solvent-Free Formulation:
Its formulation contains no volatile solvents and does not include low molecular weight cyclosiloxanes (D3 to D10), which helps in preventing contact failures and ensures safer, cleaner processing.
These features make Super X No.8008 suitable for applications that require durable bonds—especially in environments subject to thermal cycling and mechanical stresses.
